The Messer brand name stands for a constant presence in the markets for industrial gases and cutting and welding technology stretching back for more than 120 years.

The Messer Group (Messer) and the Messer Eutectic Castolin Group (MEC) operate under the “Part of the Messer World” umbrella brand, signifying that they are part of the “Messer World” group of companies.

In February 2005, the gas operations of the Messer Group merged with the MEC Group to form the “Messer World”. Besides Messer and ASCO Carbon Dioxide, the sister companies Messer Cutting Systems with MesserSoft, Castolin Eutectic, BIT Analytical Instruments and also Spectron Gas Control Systems, which was hived off from Messer Cutting Systems on 1 January 2011, are all “Part of the Messer World”.
