Stephen Kaufer

President & CEO

Steve co-founded Tripadvisor in 2000 with the mission to help travelers around the world plan and book the perfect trip. Under his leadership, Tripadvisor has grown into the largest travel site in the world. As CEO, Steve has led the growth of Tripadvisor, Inc., which includes 24 other travel media brands that operate in 48 markets worldwide. Prior to co-founding Tripadvisor, Steve was president of CDS, Inc., an independent software vendor, and prior to that, was co-founder and vice president of engineering of CenterLine Software. Steve holds several software patents. Over the years Steve has won a number of awards for his entrepreneurship and leadership in the travel industry including being inducted into the 2015 British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame, receiving the 2015 Pioneer Award by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Mr. Kaufer serves on the boards of CarGurus and the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (formerly known as Caring for Carcinoid Foundation). He's a fan of his brother-in-law's robot sculptures at Lipson Robotics (www.lipsonrobotics.com). Steve has a degree in computer science from Harvard University.

Ernst Teunissen

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive, Viator, TheFork and Cruise Critic

Ernst is responsible for overseeing Tripadvisor's global finance operations including accounting, financial planning & analysis, investor relations, tax, and corporate development. He also serves as the chief executive for our Viator, TheFork and Cruise Critic businesses. Ernst previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cimpress N.V., formerly known as Vistaprint N.V. where he had similar responsibilities. Prior to joining Cimpress as vice president of corporate strategy in 2009, Ernst was a founder and director of two corporate finance and management consulting firms, Manifold Partners and ThreeStone Ventures Limited. Before that, he worked in investment banking as an executive director at Morgan Stanley's Telecoms and Media Group in London and as a senior associate director for Deutsche Bank in both London and Singapore. Early on, Ernst worked as a consultant at Monitor Company, a global strategy firm in Europe and Asia. He holds a BBA from Nijenrode University, The Netherlands School of Business and an MBA from the University of Oregon.

Ernst's favorite travel destination is Valbonne, France.

 

Seth Kalvert

Chief Legal Officer and Secretary

Seth Kalvert has responsibility for all of the legal activities of Tripadvisor, Inc. Prior to assuming his role as General Counsel in August 2011, Seth held various positions at Expedia, Inc., most recently as Vice President, Associate General Counsel since February 2006, where he had primary responsibility for the legal aspects of the company's mergers and acquisitions and other transactional work, along with the global Expedia brand, and managed a team that provided legal support for various Expedia brands, including Tripadvisor and Hotwire, in addition to privacy and trademarks across Expedia, Inc. Before joining Expedia, Seth held various legal positions at IAC/InterActiveCorp, which he joined in July 2001. Previously, Seth held a business development role at a privately-held online social networking and e-commerce company and practiced law in the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP. Seth holds an AB from Brown University and a JD from Columbia Law School.

Seth's favorite travel destination is Queenstown, New Zealand.

 

Sugata Mukhopadhyay

Chief Technology Officer

Sugata is the Chief Technology Officer at Tripadvisor, responsible for leading the company’s engineering organization worldwide. With over 15 years of experience at Tripadvisor, Sugata has touched nearly every area of the business. As head of engineering for Tripadvisor’s Rentals and Experiences business units, Sugata has overseen several significant technical projects that have helped scale the business. Sugata continues to lead engineering for the Experiences & Rentals unit in addition to his global information technology role that spans across all of Tripadvisor globally. Prior to joining the Tripadvisor team, he was involved with several early stage startups across media, FinTech and mobile technology verticals, both as a founder and in engineering leadership roles. Sugata holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and Cornell University.

Sugata's favorite travel destination is Iceland.

 

 

Beth Grous

Chief People Officer

Beth is responsible for leading Tripadvisor's global human resources organization. Previously, Beth was at Nuance Communications, a global provider of speech and imaging solutions, where she served as the senior vice president of human resources. Prior to Nuance, Grous spent three years at Sanofi Corporation, a global healthcare organization, where she was the vice president of human resources. Beth also held a number of roles at Genzyme Corporation for nine years, including vice president of human resources, before it was acquired by Sanofi. Earlier on, Grous held human resources leadership positions at Perot Systems Healthcare Services, Reebok International, Aramark Educational Services and Federated Department Stores. Grous holds a bachelor's degree in English from Cornell University.

Beth's favorite travel destination is Maui, Hawaii.

 

Lindsay Nelson

Chief Experience & Brand Officer

As Chief Experience & Brand Officer, Lindsay leads the organization responsible for driving transformation and excellence across the overall Tripadvisor consumer experience and brand. With product, marketing and revenue accountability for e-commerce and direct-to-consumer, Lindsay’s organization focuses on delivering growth, habit and innovation across the platform. A regular speaker on topics about women in leadership and driving transformative change from start-ups to legacy organizations, Lindsay has been named Wanderlust’s number “1” most important woman in travel. Forbes recognized her on the 2018 CMO Next List as a top 50 marketing executive; Advertising Age named her a "Woman to Watch;" and Business Insider appointed her one of the "Most Powerful Women in Mobile Advertising." Previously Lindsay oversaw commercial and marketing efforts for Vox Media, the fastest-growing modern media company, as Chief Commercial Officer.

Lindsay's favorite travel destination is Marrakech, Morocco (so much so she wed there).

 

Kanika Soni

Chief Commercial Officer

As Chief Commercial Officer, Kanika is responsible for all Tripadvisor B2B revenue, across Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Experiences and Restaurants, as well as growing the company’s media solutions and advertising business. Kanika has extensive experience in scaling digital and e-commerce businesses while keeping customer experience at the core of business strategy.

Kanika joined Tripadvisor from The Walt Disney Company in April 2019, where she led global e-commerce for the Consumer Products Division. During her tenure at Disney, she helped turn the business around to deliver sustained double-digit revenue growth. This transformation centered around several strategic initiatives including driving increased traffic, expanding product assortment and improving the shopping experience. Prior to Disney, Kanika held leadership positions at Tesla Motors, Gilt Groupe and McKinsey & Company. Kanika holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Delhi University.

Kanika’s favorite travel destination is Cartagena, Colombia.

 

Ben Drew

President, Viator

 

Ben leads Viator, a Tripadvisor company and the world’s largest tour and activity booking site. Under Ben’s leadership, Viator gives travelers access to incredible experiences around the world, and helps tour operators grow their audiences, bookings and businesses.

As head of Viator, Ben also oversees Bokun, the Iceland-based and globally-leading software company serving the tours, attractions and experiences industry. Bokun was acquired by and integrated into Tripadvisor in 2018 under Ben’s leadership.

Ben joined Tripadvisor as head of business development for vacation rentals in 2012, where he led significant inventory growth, and the acquisitions of vacation rental brands Niumba, VacationHomeRentals and HouseTrip. Prior to joining Tripadvisor, Ben led business development for emerging markets at Expedia, and worked as a strategy consultant at Deloitte. Ben holds a degree in economics from the University of Cambridge.

Almir Ambeskovic

CEO, TheFork

Almir Ambeskovic is the CEO of TheFork. At this role he’s responsible for setting TheFork’s business strategy and leading global operations of the brand, inclusive of TheFork’s operations in 22 countries around the world, to continue the mission to bring happiness through amazing and accessible dining experiences. Prior to being appointed as CEO, Almir was Vice President Sales and Marketing for TheFork, a role in which he was responsible for the growth of the business after driving as Regional Director the leading markets of TheFork (Italy and France among others) for several years. He joined TheFork in 2014 as Italy Country Manager following the acquisition by Tripadvisor of RestOpolis, an online restaurants reservation startup he founded and led since 2011 in Milan. Almir began his career as a consultant and entrepreneur in the IT sector. First as start-up entrepreneur founding three companies, then as top manager of a digital scale-up as TheFork, Almir has always been active as a mentor for innovation in Italy. In 2012, Almir created and hosted the first Italian television program on start-ups and innovation. He was also vice president of the group of young entrepreneurs of Assolombarda for six years until 2016.  

Almir's favorite travel destination is Sicily, Italy (though for dining out he loves Rome, "the eternal city" and home of the delicious Carbonara).
