It has great resistance to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack, where it also withstands sulfuric, acetic, formic and phosphoric acids, and other non-oxidizing media. Like other nickel alloys (in the mill annealed condition), these Hastelloy Screws is ductile, can be formed and welded, and resists stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions, where it also has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and to stress-corrosion cracking, and so is not recommended in the presence of ferric or cupric salts.
