Esomeprazole

Esomeprazole 40 mg provides more effective
acid control than twice the standard dose of omeprazole.

Reduces gastric acid secretion through inhibition of 
H+/K+-ATPase in gastric parietal cells.

Decreases the chance of ulcers in people who are taking
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Significantly improved gastrointestinal symptoms and
quality of life in subjects with functional dyspepsia.
